What Does Indy LFOE Do?

Welcome to
Indy LFOE.

Indy LFOE (Love For Our Elders) is the statewide branch of the international nonprofit Love For Our Elders dedicated to combatting loneliness among elders. Through handwritten letters and partnerships with local senior homes and hospitals, our team aims to build connections and spread love across Indiana.

Here at Indy LFOE, local volunteers come together to craft heartfelt notes, which we deliver to care homes and senior communities throughout the state. Together, we’re creating a ripple effect of compassion, one letter at a time.

Our Words,
Their
Smiles.

We believe that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Through handwritten letters, we aim to bridge the gap between generations and bring joy to elders. With over 2,000 letters (and counting!) sent to isolated seniors in Indiana and hundreds of local volunteers, we’re creating a statewide community rooted in compassion and connection.

  • The Remembered Project

The Remembered Project, a community initiative started by Indy Love For Our Elders, is a living archive of voices, memories, and wisdom from elders whose lives shaped the world around us. Through portraits and conversations, we preserve the beauty of being human: to love, to learn, to lose, and to be remembered.
